What data do we have?

  We used three different Clutch Springs with k-value of 30, 50 and 74, respectively. The larger k-value Clutch Spring (or, say, the stronger it is), the later Clutch engagement happens. By observing the spring rpm at different phases, including Not Engaged, Slippery Contact, and Fully Engaged, we will see the difference between HiT Clutch and stock clutch (i.e., conventional clutch).

Definition

  • Not Engaged: The Clutch hasn’t touched the Bell yet.
  • Slippery Contact: The Clutch touches the Bell in slippery contact situation.
  • Fully Engaged: The Clutch rotates synchronously with the Bell.

  1. For stock clutch, the rpm difference between Slippery Contact Start and Fully Engaged Start is about 2300rpm, showing much longer time to get fully engagement. BAD engaging ability.
  2. For HiT Clutch, the rpm difference between Slippery Contact Start and Fully Engaged Start is about only 500rpm, showing much effective engaging ability. WIN!!
  3. Clutch Springs with different K-value may affect the Not Engaged and Fully Engaged intervals, it does not affect the Slippery Contact interval.

  For example, using Clutch Springs with k-value of 30, 50, or 74(N/mm) results in similar Slippery Contact interval: about 2300rpm difference in stock clutch, and only 500rpm in HiT Clutch.
